Rush Truck Centers - Orlando

I had an entire set of $200 worth of fishing Lures that was stolen out of the truck that I brought in by one of the rush employees. I know for a fact that I left the fishing lures within the truck because I put them in between the seat, and my supervisor had seen me leave them in the truck. Just to be sure I didn’t misplace the lures I checked everywhere. I contacted the correct rush people to make a complaint and they said that they asked the employees about the merchandise and of course the employees lied and said that they didn’t see the lures and rush truck center sided with the employee. Our company won’t be working with Rush truck center anymore. My advice to anyone that drops off their trucks to be worked on at rush truck center is to take every single item out of your truck because the employees will steal valuables and rush truck center will not remedy the situation at all.

On 10/2/23 i had a meeting with sales rep at this dealership his name was John, I requested a quote for two trucks, Pete 579 & Pete 589, he had 579 on the lot and he said he was gonna send me a quote for that truck the same day and 589 could take a couple of days as it is a new model and he needs time to put it together. We agreed that he was going to email me quotes for both trucks (for those who don't know a proper quote or proposal should contain specifications for the vehicle and prices with total price at the end. It is usually 15-20 pages. This is important because if you're shopping around you want to be able to compare prices and trucks. If a dealer refuses to provide spec sheet with pricing it's usually because they're too expensive and they know they don't have competitive prices and you could probably buy same or similar truck for a better price). He called me later that day and offered a price for the truck he had in stock (579), I told him that i was busy at the moment and I don't want to discuss price over the phone and I asked him to email me proper proposals for both trucks as agreed, I haven't heard from him ever since. Today is 11/6/23. (After reading all this negative comments looks like he did me a favor lol). I had similar experience with three different Peterbilt dealerships over the years including this one. I have been in trucking industry for 23 years and I drove and owned a lot of different trucks over this period of time, Kenworth, Western Star, Volvo, International and Freightliner, I never had a Peterbilt and I never will, after three attempts I'm done, they don't deserve my business, but I will contact Peterbilt company and tell them my experience. Hopefully they can get their dealers to improve their customer service.

On 2-21-21 I purchased a 2014 Peterbilt 386 with 616,929 miles at Rush Trucks Orlando. In the past I have bought used trucks that were much older and with over 1,000,000 miles and had great results. Over the past 15 years I purchased medium duty trucks from a salesman that I trust named Jim Reetz. I have purchased F350s, F550s, F150s, either for myself or for my previous employers. The experience with Jim at Rush was GREAT. The trucks were spec'd right and were workhorses. My current business plan is to grow my business by purchasing reliable used trucks and equipment. I planned to buy from a reputable company with locations throughout the Nation that would stand behind their trucks. This is why I chose Rush! BOY WAS I WRONG! My friend warned me not to buy a truck from this dealership but I did not listen. He went to an auction the same day and purchased a used Volvo 780 that did not even run. I preached to him that purchasing a truck that did not run and had no history was not a sound $20,000 business decision. I should have listened because my 2014 Peterbilt has not run 3 days in a row without needing a repair since the day I purchased it. My friend spent an additional $1200.00 for a used ECM and another $1200.00 for 2 new steer tires. He has worked 6 days a week since he purchased the truck. He has gone from Florida to New Jersey twice weekly and has netted enough to recover his $23,000.00 initial investment, but he has also made an additional $12,000 net profit. Myself, on the other have not made a penny! I test drove the truck prior to purchase and upon making the deal with Scott the salesman, we agreed that the shop would fix the the front end issues, the transmission issues, install a new steering wheel, and fix the AC. I was told the truck is ready for pick up on 2-25-21 and that all repairs were complete and the truck was 100% ready to go. Not true! As soon as I hooked to the trailer and merged onto the interstate and the truck reached operating temperature, the check engine light came on, the truck began to jerk and the truck started to shake like an earthquake. I videoed this and sent it to my salesman Scott. He apologized and assured me the dealership would take care of everything. I also let him know that the transmission was not repaired as promised and that I had to pay someone else to deliver the load. So after taking delivery of the truck for less than 4 hours I was limping back to the dealership. 9 days later, I pick it up and drive 60 miles to my yard and everything seemed OK. I worked for almost 1 day and the check engine light comes on again. I brought it back and they kept it for another 5 days and tried to tell me that its now the EGR regulator valve and its not covered by the $6000.00 warranty that I purchased with the truck and tried to give me a $1200.00 bill to pay. I called Steve the General Manager and told him I was not going to pay a dime because I purchased the truck almost a month prior and had not worked 1 day without issue. Steve's response to me was " What do you expect, the truck has 600,000 miles on it". I also told him that the illuminated signs in his dealership say that Rush Truck Centers Sell Road Ready Used Trucks! This is not true. Steve agreed to take care of the bill, only if I sign a release absolving Rush Trucks of any future repairs. For the next week the check engine light came on and went off every other day and on 3-24-21 I take the truck to Rush in Jacksonville. I pick it up on 3-26-21; cost $236.00 and check engine come back on on 4-2-21. I take it back to Rush Jacksonville. They say it needs an ECM. Warranty covered most of repair($4,000.00) and I had to pay $697.00. I picked it up on 4-8-2021 and did not make it 20 miles before the check engine light came back on and the truck started to miss. This is where the truck sits now, 5 days later with no answer except, we are waiting on approval from the warranty company. If you want to go out of business in the 1st 30 days, buy a truck from Rush Truck Centers. I wish I could give the company a negative instead of 1 star.

Karen at Rush Truck Center was fantastic. Dealing with all the delays with Bronco production was a headache but Karen was on top of it and made sure I was up to date with all changes in the schedule. Also, she gave me a great deal in a market that is taking advantage of customers so it was such a relief to have a sales person I can actually trust to have a good experience. She was such a good part of the process, she even came to pick me up at my house and drive me to the dealership to pick up my new car. Couldnt be happier.

Did a great job on my spring hangers and bushings. Paul there seems like a straight forward and knowledgeable guy. They did a great job keeping me updated and calling to confirm details.They do seem jammed up a bit but if they're doing good work in such a high traffic area it can only be expected. Will return anytime I need something in the area.
